A record bid failing to go through. There must be other factors at play to prevent Tottenham from agreeing to the Real Madrid offer for Gareth Bale.
The recent statement made by Bale will definitely push Tottenham into taking a decision sooner than later. Do I see another bidder taking advantage of the situation?

€99M and Bale is already in Madrid, so there you go for overrated! I wonder if he is going to make more money than Ronaldo... :)

Bale is over rated in my opinion. Zinedine Zidan costed almost half the prize Compared to Bale. Lets look at Bale. He has: tremendous speed, pretty good tecnique, good shot,a nose for goals and a strong physic. However he has no where near the same amoung of tricks in his game, as Cristiano Ronaldo fx. He has had some decent seasons at Tottenham, but he needs to prove himself, at a higher level. If you compare Bale to Cristiano Ronaldo, Cristiano is in my mind, way, way better. Bale is definitely one of the best wingers in the world right now, but not the best. As I said, he needs to prove himself in a bigger club, But I do believe he has a great future ahead of him, and I wish him all the best.

If you have to compare Bale with other players it is too expensive yes, he cost almost twice as Neymar. I think he will be able to play his game at Real, if he's worth the 100M€ inside the field I don't know, but a lot of eyes in the UK will now be looking to Real in a different way...

well, of course Bale is over rated. Any player who is sold 100 million euros is over rated. You can get 2 Neymar with that money! I don't think that any team should spend more that 50-60 millions for a player and it's still too much. You can get 2-3 very good players with that money so that your team can perform better as a whole and you don't depend too much in one player. Imagine that Bale goes to Real Madrid for 100 millions and he is injured in his first week in the team for 6 months. It's not impossible to happen... It will be a total waste of money...

There are top teams and there are the other teams. Real has "bought" a lot of British fans with Bale. But look at my team for example, we sold our best and we started our league with 5-1 and 4-0 wins...

The deal with Real Madrid not going through is surely going to put tremendous pressure on Tottenham to release him before the window closes. That he did not report for practice after a holiday clearly shows he is keen on joining Real Madrid. Overrated or not, Gareth Bale is the man on the scene and can still call the shots unlike some of the other big stars like Rooney and Luis Suarez.

Suarez and Rooney don't call the shots because their teams don't depend fully on them. They have other great players that can fill their gap. Tottenham can't do that, they can't play the same without Bale. Suarez can put a lot of pressure on the Liverpool board too because their game depends on him a lot but they don't have them in their first 8 matches of the season so that would be a problem anyway. Also, Suarez stated that he doesn't want to leave the club anymore and he will stay in Liverpool. As for Rooney, Moyes has stated that he won't leave the club. Rooney wanted to leave because last year he was sitting in the bench for many matches but he is in the starting eleven this season at all Manchester United matches. Only Mourinho is making statements about his tranfer because he wants Rooney in his team and he wants to unsettle him. In my opinion, there is no possibility that Rooney will go to another club and it is impossible to go to a rival such as Chelsea.

So the deal with Real Madrid does take place. It was just too big a deal to not go through. With the transfer window closing soon, it looks like both Rooney and Luis have to settle down pretty fast and make the most of the opportunities the get at the start of the season. It may help them both to make a mark this season. Going by how they are performing, injury scare is a thing of the past.

Gareth Bale in my opinion is overrated and cost way too much money, considering one poster put that you can buy 2 Neymar's with that money. Much as he has speed, skill and incredible ability as a player, he isn't quite the same as Christino Ronaldo or Messi and is unproven at the highest level.

Guess if you're paying a huge amount of money, you're more than willing to take the risk...

Real Madrid is known to shell out big money for players they want. It was not surprising to see the management winning at the transfer table. I think a fit player like Gareth Bale will do exceedingly well in Spain. I would rate him more of a player in the Arjen Robben mold with more penetration and power.
