The EPL transfer talk

With Roberto Soldado soon to arrive at White Hart Lane and the Gareth Bale saga drawing everyone's attention, I figured we can have a thread for discussions involving the transfer market. Please post your opinions about your favorite team's transfer targets as well as about the players you would like to see playing for the team you support. General discussion about the players leaving the EPL are also welcome.

Being a Manchester United supporter, I am fairly disappointed that we lost Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich. The chances of Cesc Fabregas signing for us also seem slim. Not sure how serious Moyes is about Fellaini but I wouldn't mind if he joins. I am also hoping that we'll be able to sign Baines who is possibly the best left back in the Premier League right now.

Thoughts?

I really want to see more of Bale next season, he is a beast! But I honestly don`t know if Real Madrid would be a good choice. I think it will be more of a prestige signing than anything else, because Madrid already has those dominant players in Ronaldo and Özil, with newly transfered guys pushing in next season.
In my opinion he should just stay in England, but join a "major" club like Utd.

I think Bale will leave Tottenham, but as soon as he does it'll start a transfer circus "who are Tottenham going to sign?" and be linked with every name under the sun because everyone knows that Spurs have money in the bank.

To be honest I'm surprised the Tottenham chairman hasn't bitten Real Madrid's hand off! He has a reputation as a money-hungry skinflint (several Spurs fans have made jokes about moths flying out of his wallet the last time he opened it).

As a Millwall fan I tend to pay more attention to the Championship than the Premier League, so I haven't seen Bale that much, but I can't help making a comparisons to other players who were great in this league, but struggled when they went to Spain.

Levy is stubborn, it's his price or no price, and in the end he gets what he wants. We always sign players, and sell for profit. Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, and now Bale. The man is money hungry but on his terms.

Being a fellow Manchester United fan, I can honestly say that I second your opinion. While I'm disappointed that we missed out on Thiago Alcantara, I can honestly say that it might have been a bullet dodged. This is because looking at his style of play it seems a bit too slow for a club like Manchester United. Unless we were aiming to play a three man midfield with him in the most advanced role I don't see how he would have fitted in. I'm optimistic about the prospect of Cesc Fabregas joining.

Doubtful. I don't see it happening this season at least. He's too important for Madrid to let go and unless Ronaldo forces his way out, there is no way this is happening.

Plus you wonder how much Madrid would want for him, probably more than they paid. Also, think of the money he brings in from shirt sales etc, too valuable an asset to let go from the club. Plus I think he said he wants to end his career at Real.

I'm pretty certain Ronaldo would not like to play as back up. If they still play him in the starting 11, where does that leave new signings like Isco?
