I am actually rather surprised that Manchester United have not tried to sell Rooney on, the majority of the United fans have made it clear they don't want the stroppy little sod there, threw a tantrum over not being first choice didn't he? Wasn't the last bid something like £25m? I think Manchester United will be looking for at least £40m+.

It's unsettling to think of Wayne Rooney in a Chelsea shirt firing them to Premier League triumph. Imagine how it would feel if he scored a screamer against us in the champions league final. Rooney to Chelsea will not happen; well, at least I hope so anyway.

I think he will go somewhere soon, he is unhappy at not being first choice striker and I've seen players threaten to strike if they haven't been given a move, Steve Morison at Millwall is an excellent example, got himself deliberately sent off. I say get rid of him, use that money to bring in a younger and more hungry striker, there are plenty about who I think are better than Rooney.

But would you rather sell him to Chelsea as he would effectively guarantee them the Premier League title, or would you keep him? No brainer that one.

Guarantee them the title? I think that might be exaggerating it a little bit. :) And since I'm a Millwall fan I'm not bothered who he gets sold to .... unless Manchester United fancy loaning him to us for the season and pay his wages. :D

It's a rivalry question. Chelsea is Man U's nightmare and selling them one of their good strikers isn't going to happen any time soon. However if a non-English team does make an offer I'm sure Moyes will let Rooney go. However for a team that intends to make a shot at the title — not likely.

Do you seem them selling him to any team in the Premier League?

I don't see how Manchester United can sell Rooney to any Premier League club, unless Rooney refuses to play or makes the biggest scene, what I can't imagine either. They would be giving one of their best players to a direct competitor right when Moyes is beginning and I don't think that would be a good sign for the long years he has left in contract.

It isn't the first time we have seen a player refuse to play for a club in order to force a move. I think it is more likely he will go over seas, maybe Spain or Germany? Can German clubs afford big wages? I know they have to keep VERY tight control over their finances, even more so than here in the UK.

I'm not one to exaggerate seeing as Rooney has, for over 8 seasons been the main man at Manchester United- the heartbeat if I may. Selling him to arguably your biggest rivals is a statement of little intent and the confidence it would give to Mourinho and his boys is uncanny and United under no circumstance should sell him.

I agree with you. I would rather sell Rooney for £2 million to Real Madrid than for £30 million to Chelsea.
