Yes it isn't even pre-season yet and talk about the new season has begun. Don't deny it, you have been thinking about football and the new season. Only 4 weeks post the world cup and it will be here and as always the biggest question in EU football is, when will a team be able to retain the UEFA champions league?

With an endless cash surplus, an unimaginably good squad as well as starting 11, are Los Blancos just too strong for the rest of Europe?

With Ronaldo out of the world cup and Bale not reaching it, their top 2 players will still be hungry after the summer for trophies.

Or will the likes of Chelsea bolstered by Fabregas and Costa show up, or Juventus the ever under achieving Italian giants play their part? What of the ruthless Germans, Bayern to cement another champions league final in recent years?

So many possibilities, would love to hear your thoughts

I think the hardest thing about retaining the cup is the fact that alot of teams work you out the next time you are competing.
The only reason i cant see them doing it because they was inconsistent at times and i believe they got really lucky to even win that final!
Bayern with their new signings will come back stronger,, you watch!

I'm going to wait until the transfer season is earlier before I start predicting who's going to win the Champions League. Real Madrid have a good chance of winning it next year too, if anyone is going to stop them I'd feel that it would be an English club. They proved last year just how better than everyone else they were.

It will be a very tough task for Madrid to retain the Champions League. Teams like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, PSG etc are ready for the challenge. I am still doubtful on the capability of English teams to win the League.

I don't truly want to make unfounded assumptions about whether a team will or not win, but, seeing how the selected Spain team for the World Cup played (1-5, way to go!), I have my doubts regarding how they will perform in Champions League. I think that Bayern has the most chances of successfully winning though but, again, I will restrain from further thoughts as the pre-season hasn't even started yet.

No team has ever retained the Champion League title and Real definitely isn't good enough to pull that off. I'm supposing that Barca will cause mayhem in Europe this time round with their acquisitions [after they learn to work in tandem].

This time around Barca will be a force to reckon with.Neymar would be fully fit and Messi will be eager to showcase his prowess after losing it out last time.Rmd have won it ten times before and they seem favorites, but never before has a team retained the champions league.I wish La decima stays for ever..:p

While I think Real will be there or there abouts towards the end, I don't think they can be considered favorites. Barca will be working harder than ever to avenge a disappointing season last year and with the addition of Suarez they will be a real force to be reckoned with. Not to mention Bayern, PSG, Atleti and Manchester City.
