The striker Arsenal have their eyes on is Benzema. So if that's the measure of how strong their squad will be in January then I think it would be better for them to deliberately drop out of the CL so they can compete against weaker teams in the Europa league. But even then there's no guarantee they'll win. . .

I don't think Benzema will leave Real, they already let Higuain go. On the other hand I never expected them to let Ozil go so...

I am big ob Beyern winning it back but I remember at the point that Arsenal was eliminated last year they beat Bayern at Home 2-0. They just needed one more to beat them outright by aggregate. This gives an argument for luck in the game of football. Arsenal will make something happen in my opinion.

They're quite serious about letting him go.

Quote From The Standard:
Arsenal have been told they can sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema for a cut price deal in January - as the Spanish giants step up plans to sign Luis Suarez. . .

But question is whether Arsenal will be willing to sign him.

I am always dubious about what appears on newspapers, but I agree that Real would be better off with Suarez and Falcão, don't know if they will be able to do it in January though.

The uncertainty [for Real] would be in getting the aforementioned players but as for Benzema leaving, the way rumors are flying around now and the prices [for Benzema] edging slightly upwards I'm sure they'll sell him to the highest bidder [who undoubtedly will be Chelsea].

I didn't know Chelsea was looking for a striker, but for me it's hard to see Real as a selling club, I am used to see them as buyers, but Ozil was something new no doubt, maybe others will follow.

Chelsea would do well with the addition of a lethal striker but I don't consider Benzema one. Maybe since Mourinho has worked with him in the past he may know of some 'talismanic' abilities of the Frenchman which are not obvious to us.

I really do not understand what Chelsea are going to need a new striker for. They already have one in Eto'o who is not my favorite but can get the job done. Furthermore, I remember Murinho saying that Chelsea had too many players. I do not think that Benzema will go to Chelsea.

I don't know what E'too has done for Chelsea lately. The only reason Mourinho jumped at signign E'too was that he was desperate. Could he rely on Torres as the goal scorer or an aging Lampard?

E'too is well past his prime so I'd rule him out as a reliable striker.

Eto'o did spend a couple of years vacationing in Russia so it's not easy to get back into top performance form, he is taking his sweet time switching into gear though...

Napoli seems to be ready to beat some of the biggest European teams.
Let's see what happens against Marseille.
Anyway, I don't think it has the potential to win against Barcelona, Bayern or Madrid...
