I was really expecting him to leave next summer and now Real makes him the best paid player in the world with 17M per year! I don't see him going anywhere soon, well done Ronaldo! :)

Not a bad way to celebrate a new contract - by scoring a hat-trick. I knew as soon as Bale signed for a record fee that Ronaldo would want more money to have the limelight back on him

Did anyone see the tackles that Ronaldo was throwing about in Bale's first training session? I'm not sure what surprised me more, the ferociousness of the tackles or the fact that Ronaldo can actually tackle!

I wouldn't say it was ferocious, he was taking the training seriously - as he should and usually does.
@caparica007 , I also expected him to leave, I guess he is going to play in Madrid until he finishes his career now, he isn't getting paid as much elsewhere.

As someone who has been playing competitive football for almost 25 years the one thing every manager I've been under have all had one thing in common - you don't go in hard on your team mates and potentially injure them.

This is true, injuring a team player during practice it's a big nonsense, I know they are advised to take it easy on training, maybe Ronaldo was just a little excited with the new partner.

Prior to the Bale being sold to Real, Ronaldo in an interview had said he no issues with that as long as in the long run he took home a bigger pay package than Bale. Real were not doing him a favor for being one of the best players in the world [right now] but were caving in to Ronaldo's demands. Maybe he threatened to leave Real [who knows]?

So now he earns more than Bale, let's see if this will soothe the egos.

Real is a great ca$h cow but I hate it when a player [when he's good at what he does] holds the club he plays for at ransom. What most of these players forget is that as after they retire they might want to take a stab at Managing a club and if you were [not 'nice'] who'll give you an opportunity to prove yourself?

It is a business, I am pretty sure the clubs play dirty as well. As for Ronaldo managing, I really doubt it, but who knows? Rich as he is he can do whatever he wants, hopefully he returns to Sporting and puts some money in our club. :)

Like I always say it makes no difference if the Clubs play dirty or not. If everyone is mean because, someone for example, said or did something mean to them what would the world come to?

I think that players have got so rapacious that soon everyone will start demanding for more cash. Iniesta already did that and more players will follow the example set by Ronaldo. I'm quite sure of that.

If a player is well paid in one club all the others will want the same and that's an issue for the club to manage. In my club we have no money, all the best paid players were sent out and we are almost top of the league... ;)
