Haha. Yes, undoubtedly. The guy has the articulacy of a toothpick. It sounds to me like the writer was really struggling to pick a quality out about him!
As long as he gets the right message across, I think he'll do just fine. He has made a statement the English squad will go easy on players representing teams at the Champions Trophy. That's a big plus for Arsenal and Manchester United. I'll go with his positive sentiment and give him my vote. If it gets too difficult, I'll read his comments.
The message hopefully being "start treating being picked to play for England as an honour instead of a tedious chore." Every other nation has players eager to impress on the international stage apart form the majority of ours.

I have the understanding that he does . Out of respect he has deterred himself from forcing through a move.I agree. the problem lies, however, in players understanding the role of club managements in deciding their importance at club level. For example, Rooney has always found a place in the English team. he must be a little out of place having to concede the striker's position. Resentment is not accepted, which is why he found it difficult to reconcile.
I'm sure he is honored to play for England. I hope he quickly learns it's fantastic to play for a club like Man U as well.

This is exactly why many believe the lineups are influenced by the media in more ways than one. Why did Wayne Rooney start the match when he only had 45 minutes of Pre-season action?I was watching the England/Scotland game the other night and I noticed that there were quite a few players on show who have spent the past season keeping the subs bench warm. I think that says a lot about our players.
