I never knew that . I thought Christiano started in United shows how somebody can have a really small mind about things. The ups and down in football are what makes it the big game as it's worldwide.

Cristiano was only 17 or 18 and MU had already the eye on him. They played a friendly match against us in Lisbon and they lost 3-0 with Ronaldo making a huge game. They took him a few weeks later.

I'm assuming they would have rather he stayed, but when a player wants to leave there is very little you can do apart from trying to secure the best possible deal for the club.
