Do you think there should be a winter break in the Premier League?

All the other major leagues have a winter break without any problem. Football over the festive period is a tradition in England but I am swaying towards supporting the winter break as I think it will benefit the national team and it will improve the standard of football by keeping the players fresh.

I doubt it will happen, though, as the league would need to be reduced and the members will not vote for that.

I don`t think there should be a winter break in the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world and that`s one thing that makes it even more special. As you said, it`s a tradition in England to play in this period.

I agree. The fans love playing over the festive period, even fans in other countries who watch on T.V. However, I think the quality of football drops over this period because they are playing so many games in such a short space of time. I can't see it changing, though.

Indeed, I like to watch some great games in this period when the other leagues are having the winter break and I also place some bets on them :p

Haha, I like a flutter on the football over the festive period but it can be a tricky time to bet because there are so many games and there are usually lots of upsets.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I'm looking forward to the Boxing Day matches, even though there are no stand out matches.
