Soccer players

I think the forum needs a new section for soccer players to discuss and ask for/give advices.

yea good idea or you could just start a thread about the team they play for and discuss in there.

A single thread would really be enough for this, it should probably be a new section with a few sub-categories, maybe one to share the performances of their respective teams, one for advices, maybe one for equipment.

What position do you all play? I used to be a left back (one of two people in the team who could actually use their left foot) but recently I've been playing more five-a-side and pushing forward more.

Centre-back here. I've been in that position for as long as I can remember, even in middle school. I tried playing a striker once but it ended up being too much pressure

I played at district and county level when I was at school. I was also on the Youth Training Scheme (YTS) at Leyton Orient. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it as a professional and I gave up playing football, even though I had offers from semi-professional clubs.

My favourite position was centre midfield but I also played right midfield and right full back.

Well, this is an old thread but I think this is a good idea. This forum could need some sub-forums anyway and why not having a special one for players?

Sad that this thread is dead. But I'll add my 2 cents in a bid to liven it up again.

Used to play as a right-back when I was a kid, was decent in that position but because I wasn't physically very strong phased out of the position as I grew older.

Don't play competitively any more but play pretty much anywhere on the right and the centre in the field now. Poor finishing in front of goal means that I rarely play as a centre forward.

I don't play anymore, that was just something I did when I was a kid. I just played one season at a club but it was an awesome experience. We even played an international tournament.
