Is there a problem with racism in English football? My opinion is that there is no problem with racism in English football and the media are blowing it all out of proportion. Yes, there will be a few racists among thousands of fans in a football stadium, nothing will change that.

The John Terry and Anton Ferdinand incident was a load of fuss over nothing.

Racism is everywhere, but in areas that are always under the headlights, like the English football, all small incidents are made bigger than they are for the sake of catching people's attention.

I think it's just blown up to sell some tabloids. I don't think it's really that much of an issue between players and teams. It sure isn't an issue with fans. Some of the best players out there are of diverse backgrounds. Don't let the ignorant few in the stands ruin things for you.

I wouldn't go that far. There are a few players that really have a racism problem, sometime within their own teams. But those are rare, and most of those the media talk about are insignificant occurrences.

yep uk media really tries to make things worse. ferdinand terry saga was ridiculous!

Exactly. The media WANT there to be more incidents of racism because they love filling their publications with controversy to sell their newspapers etc. I genuinely believe there is not a significant problem with racism in English football. There will always be racists among hundreds of thousands of fans but the incidents are rare.

The thing is, there were many many more incidents 20-30 years ago, but they were not given much attention. Nowadays the few incidents that remain are widely publicized, giving the false impression that the situation is getting worse, when in fact the opposite is true.
