So, there is a problem with the Ukrainian team that played in the Third Qualification Round of Champions League as they are about to be disqualified due to a fixed match in the Ukrainian league back in 2008. Do you think that they should be in the draw for the qualification playoffs tomorrow?

Facing a five-year ban for match fixing by an official is a strong statement made by UEFA against corruption in sport. I would've preferred local officials to initiate legal proceedings against the official and hold them responsible rather than the whole team, but I think that does not work in the real world. A strong message needs to be given to all teams indulging in match fixing.

As far as being allowed to participate in to qualifying play-offs, there are several situations arising out of uncertainty.

For example,

1. The team is demoralized and gives in easily to the opposition affording them an easy three points. I consider it an involuntary action to match fixing episode.

2. It puts the other team in doldrums. Do they qualify with full points out of an inconsequential match or will they have to win all the other matches?

3. Following a rule after the draw is made put all teams in the pool in a difficult situation. Strategies and plans go haywire.

Ukrainian fans must love the name until it became clear an official was involved in match fixing. Any international team capable of qualifying for the champions Trophy has to have class.

It's sad to see match fixing entering the glorious sport of football. I hope firm action is taken against sporadic incidents like these happening in the future. Arsenal must not suffer for not anticipating a negative result either which way they look at it. The only solution would be to win all the games and reach the final. It would make a lot of fans happy.

MEtalist were eliminated and they will not play against Schalke in Wednesday. PAOK from Greece will play instead of them. It was good to see a team punished for fixing a match. Actions like these can't be tolerated by UEFA even if Metalist were eliminated 4 years after that match...

I think UEFA has taken the right decision to not allow Metalist Kharkiv to play the fixture. It gives Arsenal and other teams even chances of qualifying. Strategists will have to work overtime to come up with a solution against the replacement to give the teams enough time to analyze and implement solutions on the field.
