Normally, when a team's performance isn't that impressive, the good players who feel like they are wasting their time in the club [like Fabregas when he was with Arsenal] will seek greener pastures where they will be able to win a title or gain more fame.

Is this the sort of thing that will happen to United when the season ends? Old players announcing their retirement, and youngish players leaving the club?

If that does happen how long do you think it will take before United recover from that blow?

They can recover within a year because they have the monetary resources to do it. Some players will probably leave the club because there doesn't seem to be any future here for the next season but that can change once a good manager comes in. Manchester United is a world wide known football team and managers are lining up to get here. What MU needs right now is a new vision and a plan for at least 3-5 years.
