So a good start for Moyes after all, the 20th Community Shield conquered by United with a 2-0 win over Wigan. Wigan will play the Championship this year, but a trophy is always a trophy!

The first trophy and hopefully, one of many to come. Championship team or not, Wigan beat ManCity for the cup. That does amount to something.

Well one thing it does is give Man Utd the much needed impetus to get them rolling. The start of the season may be tough or let's it looks tough but with one title under his belt Moyes will, no doubt, bouyed by this result be aiming for bigger things.

On the other hand, Man U has indicated quite early in the season it is not ready to relinquish its position at the top. There are no upsets an account of fielding a second string.

Consistency has always been a strong point. if the early result is any indication, all other teams must be on their toes.

Wigan has qualified, so they pre top-quality opposition. Meeting ManU so early in the season does have positive effect on the team. They can plan out their strategy even better.

Anyone else find it weird to keep seeing Moyes in the dugout instead of Fergie? It is going to take a bit of time for me to get used to that. Wigan gave it a bit of ago towards the end, but Manchester United had the quality to see the game out.

Yes, it were quite a few years with Ferguson, I wonder if Moyes also has wine for Mourinho? :)

If Moyes could just pull back Rooney to the first team...

Ferguson is a legend who was always seen on and off the ground as a striking personality. His volatile nature and direct approach to managing the team made him one of the greatest managers of all time.

Moyer has a tough job ahead of him. He has never claimed to fill in Sir Alex's shoes, but initial results clearly indicate there is a whole team behind him to ensure Manchester United do not slide or lag behind in results.

Not much of a drinker Moyes? Well, maybe Mourinho starts drinking wine with Pellegrini or Wenger. :D

I don't know if he is a drinker, but I do know he is Scottish and has had to learn to look after the pennies from years of managing at Everton and Preston North End, so Iron Bru is a perfect choice. hahaha :D
