Serbian defender found sitting in the stands almost unbearable, and believes that taking part would have been less stressful, describing himself as 'powerless' as a spectator

This is the same way I would feel, except I would also be nervous if I took one. It would make anyone extremely nervous if there team was taking penalty kicks in the final of a huge tournament.

I would the same if I were him given how he has played a critical role in the backline. John Terry must also have felt the pain as he was left out of the finals due to a red card suspension. Wonder why he is still captain after that incident.

I love Ivanovic, he is a real character and a very good right back. Many Chelsea fans I speak to are insistent on signing a new right back, it baffles me. I was disappointed to read what Ivanovic had to say about potentially leaving Chelsea, he didn't rule it out. Hopefully he will stay for a few more years.
