What happens if Luis Suarez is not transferred to Arsenal? Is there a chance for both teams to share his talent. Can Liverpool loan the player to Arsenal for a few games, say for the Champions League?

He is definitely not in the mood to apologize. So where does that leave him? With a 40 million price tag, no team can afford to ignore his talent.

Share? Right. :D

As soon as Bale moves to Madrid, 40 million are going to Liverpool and Suarez is headed for Tottenham, that is my bet.

And won't that leave Liverpool in an arkward position? I think the reason why they are so unwilling to sell Suarez is because they still need him even though that would be on the short-term. So loaning him is definitely out of question.

He is unhappy at Liverpool. His dream of consistently playing the Champions League will not materialize, if he stays back at Liverpool. The problem is he has spelled it out quite clearly that he wants to leave Liverpool, Where does that leave the management? How can they retain a player and get the best out of him, if he's not happy at the club.

I don't see that kind of deal happening in the same league anymore (although saying that I don't know if it is happening in other countries) because who in their right mind wants to help out ANY rival? I think he will eventually be sold, I'd rather sell him and bring in someone who wants to be there rather than let him sit at home and claim his wage every week.

Liverpool is in an awkward position right now, one of its best players wants to leave. So with the 40 million they could probably buy a couple of as good players as him. It's a though call for the clubs, they cannot leave their players when they have contracts. On the other hand, players act like kids and refuse to play so..., Rooney is doing the same thing!

Haha. Loaning him for the CL. That's epic!

As an Arsenal fan I actually feel bad for Liverpool in this situation. Arsenal have had their best players poached for years and it's heartbreaking. Liverpool have had the same sort of thing happen to them.

To be honest, I think the Suarez bid is as much a show of intent as it is a bid for a great player. With Arsenal having had their best players poached season after season, I think their bid for Suarez is a message to other teams; a message that Arsenal are here to compete again and are not a team that can be pushed around as much, since their finances are looking a lot better with regards to the stadium debt. Now they're trying to do the bullying, which if I'm being honest, doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth.

Mind you, I'll not be complaining halfway through the season if they get Suarez and it works out. I guess that's how it works when you're a football fan - selective memory :D

Suarez has a few weeks to go before he can actually play competitive football, which means he will be benched even if he were to join Arsenal now. Arsenal will benefit if they manage to put him under contract sometime during mid-season. They will have to pay him less money and draw more commitment out of the player.

It also means other teams would stop bidding for Suarez putting him in a situation where he cannot bargain. He has already stated he wouldn't like to stay back at Liverpool. So where does that leave him?

I think Liverpool and Arsenal sharing Suarez is a brilliant idea. The shirt colours are the same so he will be happy. How do they arrange the Liverpool-Arsenal games? 45 minutes for each. What if he is booked in the first half for one team and then again in the second half for the other?

While we are on the subject of sharing players, can Coventry City borrow Messi for a few games?

I guess I was indulging in wishful thinking. You sure make a point when you say Luis could be booked for both teams My worry is what happens if he gets banned for one team and not the other. Both teams would suffer. I'm sure he would be doubly careful. He could choose the team to represent at the Champions Trophy at his best behavior.

I would have agreed with your assessment sometime ago. However, I was looking at some statistics and the thing is Liverpool have won more without Suarez than with him. The statistics are 48% with him and 60% without him. Therefore, my deduction is that Liverpool have held on to him due to the publicity he brings to the club. Remember publicity is publicity whether good or bad.

I don't believe Arsenal were serious about buying him, I believe Wenger was feeling the pressure from fans to buy a player so he put a bid in knowing it would be knocked back and then he could say that at least he tried. I'd like to see Suarez stay, but I don't know if he is capable of winning over the fans AGAIN.
