Is Edinson Cavani the best in Serie A?

I saw that some ratings suggest Edinson Cavani of Napoli as the best striker currently in the Italian League. Do you agree or disagree with it, taking into consideration other top strikers of the Italian League?

I would say he is the best striker in Serie A and arguably the best striker in world football, although Falcao would have something to say about that. Falcao and Cavani are the best strikers in the world, in my opinion. I would be very happy with Chelsea signing either of them.

Higuain might be talented but he's not the best striker either in serie A or well the world of football in general.

While he was still playing for Serie A, Cavani most certainly was the best in that league. Right now I'd say Fiorentina's Mario Gomez will be the best this season.

I'm sorry but we'll have to agree to disagree. I believe that higuain is far superior in all aspects, coupled with the fact that he played with the best players at Madrid.

Cavani is a bit overrated in my opinion. He is surely a very talented player but PSG surely overpaid for him. I rate Suarez higher than Cavani. Even Falcao is probably better than Cavani if we are just looking at the French League.

Still, Cavani is probably one of the top 10 strikers in the world right now.

As always with football sometimes it comes to a question regarding whether how skilled a footballer one player is then it's never possible to get an answer everyone will agree to. So maybe we should settle for:

Both players are good but we'll know who the better goal scorer at the end of the season.

Cavani is in the French League. Number of goals scored will not be a fair comparison between someone in Ligue 1 and someone in Serie A.

I think that's fair. However it might not be appropriate to judge them using their goals because they play in different league; it might be easier to score in France as opposed to Italy.
