Is Ajax ready to win a big trophy like Europa League or Champions League next year?

I had a look at some of their recent matches and I think they have become a strong team. They don't yet have the experience to mount a serious challenge in Europa League or Champions League but I still feel they could do well next year.

I see them reaching at least quarter finals in Europa League (I feel they will be eliminated from Champions League). Ajax is one of the teams I like because it has always supplied a lot of other teams with very talented youngsters. They used to play amazing football some years ago and I wish they would return to their former glory sooner rather than later.

What do you think about Ajax?

I think things have change considerably in the world of football. How good a team gets to be is directly linked to how much money they spend to get quality players. Take the example of $ity. Ever since oil money was pumped into the club, they are now a force to reckon with not just in England but in European football too.

It's my belief therefore that unless Ajax is acquired by investors who'll spend a lot of money then we won't see much from them any time soon. But since Atletico has proved us all wrong this time round . . . maybe there's some hope for Ajax after all.

Yeah, Atletico proved this theory wrong but I do agree that teams that can invest in the best players have a lot more chances of going the distance in Europa League or Champions League. I always like to see a mix of talented players raised by the club and 2-4 players bought from other teams. If Atletico wins it this year they will show us all how hard work, dedication and more hard work can bring in major trophies.

I still think Ajax can win Europa League or at least reach the semifinals. We will see.
