Welcome to the forum. I'm more of a MMA & horse better, but I have done it occasionally, the last time was betting on Wigan to beat Man City in the cup final 1-0 at odds of 28-1 I put £10 on and won £280.

The funny thing was it was a bet my father was going to put on, but he decided not to so I thought I'd do it instead, he sulked for a week!
