The Hawk-Eye camera-based system will be used in the match by independent testers, but the trial will not impact on decisions as officials will not have access to the data

It will be interesting to see how goal-line technology is used for it is probably the first time goal-line technology is used in a big-name match.

It's about time. Hopefully this will lead to a full implementation in the top leagues and tournaments.

This is pretty useless, as there are really not that many goal line incidents...there are way more penalty area and offsides incidences. So, how did this work for the England vs. Belgium game? (If there were any goal line incidents...)

I think this is a start. This is really good because it will provide support if it ever does happen.

But this will lead to just more and more technology since there are way more penalty area and offsides issues, so eventually soccer will have as many stops as American football or baseball!

No it won't lead to anything like that. I actually haven't met one person who opposed this.

You have now! And worldsoccer also wrote an article against this a while back. It just seems there are not that many issues to warrant technology being involved.
