I think that there relegation was just a result of bad luck, losing so many players to injury cost them in the end. They should have tried to get more players in the January transfer window.​

Villareal were overachieving, they are a small provincial club. I'm not surprised they were relegated, there seemed to be a serious lack of cohesion and the players didn't look committed in the games I watched last season.

I remember how Villareal used to pose serious threats to opposing teams and to hear of them being relegated to a second tier league is depressing. But it has become normal as the power shifts to the different clubs in the league. Look at how Aston Villa used to be in the top 4 but in the recently concluded season, they had to fight off relegation. What a pity.
