Rumours going round that Croatia played out a 4-0 due to some match fixing.
Do you believe this is true?

No not at all, it would hard to fix something of that scale on what is known as the biggest football stage in the world! However i do believe Brazil have had some bias from referees!

I don't think that's true. Without evidence is hard to believe in anything, probably it is just another meaningless rumor.
But, I don't know if the referees were just bad or if they were helping Brazil...

Match fixing? No. Poor/inconsistent refereeing? Absolutely. This may be the reason why some people view Brazil as getting a bit of a bias. Too often in this World Cup has there been awful calls from referees followed by a completely different call on the other end of the pitch. Inconsistency is perhaps worse than inaccuracy, and we have had too much of both this World Cup. Otherwise, what a marvelous World Cup this has been!

No i dont think it has!
I think it would be super hard for any match to be match fixed. Just such a big stage to be honest.
I just think the world cup has had inconsistent refs.

Coming back to this thread after the recent allegations of the cameroon squad has now thrown the question open again. Yet nothing has so been proved, but looking on the facts etc something does look fishy upon what has gone on.

There is a possibility that there's been some match-fixing in some of the matches. I for one, didn't expect Brazil to get past the group stages. In any case since this would be bad for FIFAs image, I'm sure we won't hear much about this. There could be accusations flying left and right but that's about how far they'll go.

FIFA is relying on rulings the Cameroon FA will make. If the Cameroonians were paid to throw the game then the officials were in on it. The investigation to me, is a ploy to hoodwink anyone who may have some interest in the match-fixing claims so that any denial [of it happening] would be based on the findings the Cameroonian FA forwards to FIFA. Keeps FIFA in the clear.

I don't know to be honest. I'd like to say firmly that of course there hasn't been any. The players and the officials are above that;and it's simply too hard to actually do it...

But it's not like we haven't seen some...suspicious activity from FIFA before now, even recently. And there's been some infamous match fixing before now, even at this level of play. So I wouldn't exactly be surprised if this came to be the case, no.

There have been some seriously dodgy calls by some refs, but nothing of a match-fixing level. All it was was a refs bad view, time pressure to make a call and maybe a slight bit of bias towards a team. While I'm sure there is some match fixing going on in other leagues, the World Cup is way too big to be affected by it.

Quite naturally the blame could conveniently fall on the refs. But what if they're getting orders from above to make bad calls, award questionable penalties and so on?

Wouldn't that still be match-fixing even if the instructions don't come from FIFA?

If it's not coming from FIFA, who would the instructions be coming from?

Organised crime gangs are a big player in the majority of match-fixing. Google how they do it, its quite interesting!
