Fenerbahce have announced on their official website that Dirk Kuyt has left Liverpool to sign a three-year deal with the Turkish club.

As Fenerbahce is one of my favorite teams, I am glad to see that he is going there. But I don't know if he will be enough to make a difference in how good Fenerbahce is, they used to be so good a couple of years ago. Buying a bunch of new players isn't how you get good, but I am sure he will help the Fenerbahce cause.

As for Liverpool, they are losing a key player, someone who ran up and down all over the pitch and is always one of the top performers for the Merseyside team. This was a bad move for them.

What are your thoughts on this transfer?

I was sad to see the Liverpool player move to another club, and especially Fenerbahce. He had earlier mentioned that he would like to return to a Dutch club, but having stayed at Liverpool for so long, heas has become a fan favourite and it is certainly to see such a hardworking player leave the team.

What's infuriating is the amount of his transfer fee - was it really worth it?

I've never been a fan of Kuyt, personally, I prefer skillful and fast players, but I understand why he was a fan favourite at Liverpool because he worked hard and scored in big games. Kuyt for 1 million is a bargain! I'm surprised Kuyt decided to join Fenerbahce, he could have played in Germany, Hamburg wanted him.
