Atletico displacing Real?

As at now, Atletico Madrid [like Bitchelona] have won all their La Liga matches and are only separated from the top spot by a goal difference. Since Atletico managed to beat Real we can make the assumption that they can perform just as well against all the other teams. Do you think they'll be consistent enough to humiliate Real at the end of the season by tenaciously holding onto number 2?

I would not be surprised bu that because Real doesn't work for the team, works only for the money. But the tendency shown by history (and the bench) tell us Real will go up and Atletico down, so in the middle of all this we will have Barça champions again.

So predictable. . .it [La Liga] can be a pretty boring league to follow—

Anyway it's embarrassing for Real that after spending all that money on some player who was to make the team 'invincible', Barcelona still kicks their ass.

That was not well spent money in my opinion, Neymar was a much better deal for Barça and selling Ozil was crazy too, so what is Real expecting?

Rumors had it that they [Real] didn't think much of Bale but considering the fact that they could profit from Bale-branded Real merchandise [because of all the hype: Bales' great, etc] they'd make money off him anyway. So for the sake of the $$$$ they simply just had to grab Bale from Spurs.

Yes, but they can't expect money and results at the same time. Not even Mourinho managed consistent results and look at Ancellotti now, the same case. Are they in for the profit or for the results?

Real Madrid in the last decades was more interested about profits that it was interested in creating a solid team and playing the game. Atletico isn't a constant team even if they manage to win some games, they simply don't have the budget to be a rival to Barca or Madrid.

Let's not dismiss Atletico just yet. If Arsenal hopes to win the EPL then while the good run lasts, Atletico fans should ride the wave of euphoria. . .

But point is, beating Real early in the season should give Atletico the impetus to fight tooth and nail to at least win most of the matches they play because theoretically, Real is a stronger team than all the others [expect Barca] and since the other teams are small beer. . .

It's a good comparison between Arsenal and Atletico, let's see if they both can last until Christmas to see if they are real candidates. One thing is certain, beating Real in the Barnabéu was a huge boost for them.

I just hope Atletico can manage to retain the position right to the end of the season.

La Liga has always been about Real and Barca. The change could be the beginning of the playing field being leveled up a little because more players would be willing to go to smaller clubs since they'd know that at least they can take a shot at the title. . .unlike in past when at the beginning of a new season everyone would just ask, "Will it be Real or Bitchelona?"

It will be hard, Real and Barça have massive amounts of money, only with great management and luck Atletico can raise to their level, but it's football, anything can happen, Valência did it a few years ago.

How did this happen? That in less than a decade some teams got to become too strong to beat.

I'm of the opinion that if UEFA wants to stay relevant in Europe they should legislate and enforce laws that set the transfer fees of players so that. . .

1. Players earn about the same amount of money playing for any club so instead of thinking about money they can concentrate on what they do best.
2. The richer clubs don't get better and better, in the end compromising the quality of football because they get all the good players.

Boy the dreams a football fan can have. . .
