Something that I haven't heard brought up enough about this World Cup is that it took place in a close time zone. Americans didn't have to try too hard to watch a game. I think once hype started to grow, it made it easy for others to watch. Looking forward to the next World Cup, I'm not sure it's going to be quite as crazy here, even if we put together a team that has a really legitimate shot at winning. I volunteer for the NY Red Bulls on game day, so I'm interested to see what attendance looks like this Saturday. I hope to see a sold out crowd, but I'm not too sure. I went to the (soccer) bar to watch Germany v Brazil, and the majority of the people there were regulars who weren't specifically there for the game. I would have expected it to be a little crazier after the crowds that were there for the USMNT games. So, basically, I think that there will be some carry over of new fans, but overall it will probably just keep growing at the rate it has (which is still better than any other sport.)

[QUOTE="britterz7, post: 2814, member: 10216"] I think there will be some carry over fans, but not as many as I would hope for. Something that I haven't heard brought up enough about this World Cup is that it took place in a close time zone. Americans didn't have to try too hard to watch a game. I think once hype started to grow, it made it easy for others to watch.
